Another major aspect of the Caribbean Costa Rica richness is the Nature. N of Puerto Limón lies the most sophisticated natural and artificial canal network leading N to Nicaragua frontier, similar in a smaller extent to Amazon. They are inserted in Tortuguero and Barra del Colorado NPs.

From Puerto Limón and neighboring Moín and Matina to the N, you can hire a boat or take a tour to Tortuguero Canals as far as Barra del Colorado (airport). The estuaries of Matina, Pacuare, Parismina, Tortuguero and Colorado rivers are meccas for sport fishing and rafting (on Pacuare and Reventazón) lovers. Nearby beaches are just pristine.
